DANISH: Der er gået kage i den.
DIRECTLY TRANSLATED: There went a cake in it.
WHAT IS MEANS: It broke.
DANISH: Hun har ben i næsen.
DIRECTLY TRANSLATED: She has legs in her nose.
WHAT IT MEANS: She’s smart.
DANISH: Han har fået røven på komedie.
DIRECTLY TRANSLATED: He got his ass on comedy.
WHAT IT MEANS: He’s in trouble.
DANISH: Vi tager benene på nakken.
DIRECTLY TRANSLATED: We take our legs on our neck.
WHAT IT MEANS: We’ll run fast.
As you can tell, the Danish language makes perfect sense!
